Gabriel Shear (Travolta), is a spy disillusioned by his own government. To finance his patriotism, he has located accounts where there are billions in illegal government funds. However, he needs the best hacker around to get past the safeguards, and that is where Stanley Jobson (Hugh Jackman) enters the picture. Because of his previous hacking into the FBIs surveillance sites, Stanley is forbidden to get near a computer. He is living in a trailer and dreaming about seeing Holly, his daughter who is living with her mother.
Gabriel and Ginger (Halle Berry) tell Stanley he can reunite with Holly if he helps them. However, once Stanley agrees to help, he enters a world much more complicated than a simple cyber-tech heist.
