On February 15 2008, John Travolta and Kelly Preston were awarded the “Order of Cornette Award” at the Red Rose Ball in Jacksonville, Florida.

The “Order of Cornette Award” was established for those who have given a generous gift in support of “The Mission of St. Vincents” and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

In 1633, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac, (Founders of the Daughters of Charity) established the “Mission of St. Vincents,” which instilled core values such as Service to the poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity, and Dedication. This organization has formed the structure for the finest medical care available anywhere in the world.

The Red Rose Ball event was the biggest in Jacksonville history. 1.2 million dollars was raised for the Neonatal Care Facility.
