From Blu-Ray.com, October 4, 2011-“Today’s release of Pulp Fiction on Blu-ray is the director Quentin Tarantino’s best known film and one that Blu-ray fans have been begging for all five years since the format was introduced (and first rumblings that it was “coming soon”).
For the Pulp Fiction Blu-ray review , staff reviewer Jeffrey Kaufman commented, “This film is so stuffed with great performances and great bits of dialogue that it’s almost useless to try to single one or two moments out. Fans of the film are going to be very pleased with the video and audio components of this release, as well as a couple of new supplements appended to previously released extras. Anyone new to the film is in for one of the thrill rides of their film-loving lives. Highly recommended.”
Some of the special features: Not the Usual Mindless Boring Getting to Know You Chit Chat (HD; 43:01). This all new retrospective has some great interviews with the cast (including Travolta & Jackson) and crew reminiscing about how they became involved in the project and what it meant to them. It’s nice for a critic to hear that Quentin Tarantino evidently loved critics in his youth and adored Pauline Kael, which evidently fostered his appreciation for John Travolta, who was Kael’s favorite actor of that era.
