Lonely Heart is a crime-drama thriller based on a true story of America’s notorious “Lonely Hearts Killers” as chronicled by Director Todd Robinson. In the late 1940s Ray Fernandez, a conman of lonely women whom he finds in the lonely hearts section of newspapers, connects up with nurse Martha Beck. She poses as his sister, and together, they start on a hideous crime spree of romantic swindle and murder for money. Detective Elmer Robinson, (real-life grandfather of director/writer Todd Robinson, and played by John Travolta) and his partner Charles Hildebrandt (James Gandolfini) set out to capture the pair and bring them to justice.
