Variety.com May 4, 2011- “Gotti: Three Generations” is keeping it in the family — the Travolta family, that is.
By Dave McNary- Kelly Preston is joining the Fiore Films’ mob drama to play Victoria DiGiorgio, the wife of John Gotti Sr., who’s being played by Preston’s real-life husband John Travolta. And the couple’s daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta, will play the role of their daughter, Angel Gotti.
Fiore Films made the announcement Wednesday, a day after Variety first reported that Barry Levinson had been signed to direct.
Production is expected to begin in late fall, with a theatrical release in late 2012. The film will be shot in New York.
“We could not be more pleased to have Kelly and Ella join the cast of the film,” said Marc Fiore, producer of “Gotti” and CEO of the company. “This movie is about a family, and is truly turning into a family affair.”
Fiore Films acquired life rights last year from John Gotti Jr., the son of the late head of the Gambino crime family. Deal marked the first time a member of the Gotti family agreed to tell their story on the bigscreen.
Preston was last seen in “Casino Jack” as Pam Abramoff. She’s repped by CAA.
