Kennedy Center Honors with Oprah, Paul McCartney airs Tuesday on CBS– The ceremony took place a few weeks ago in Washington, D.C., but CBS will air the Kennedy Center Honors special Tuesday night, Dec 28, beginning at 9 p.m. ET. The show runs 2 hours.
The special celebrates the careers of the 33rd Annual Kennedy Center Honorees. The honorees, who were all present at the ceremony, are:
Oprah Winfrey — producer, television host, actor
Paul McCartney — songwriter, musician
Merle Haggard — singer, songwriter
Jerry Herman — composer, lyricist
Bill T. Jones — dancer, choreographer and director
Performers or presenters on the special include: John Travolta, Matthew Morrison of Glee, Sheryl Crow, No Doubt, Matthew Bomer, Julia Roberts, Miranda Lambert, Chris Rock, Barbara Walters, Angela Lansbury, Kelsey Grammer, and Sidney Poitier.
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama were in attendance at the Honors ceremony at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and will also be featured in the special. Caroline Kennedy hosted the event named after her father, former president John F. Kennedy.
CBS will broadcast the special from 9 to 11 p.m. ET Tuesday, December 28, 2010.
