George Malley (Travolta) is a nice, pleasant man who runs a garage in a small town. On the night of his birthday party, George sees a bright flash and is knocked to the ground. When he gets up the next morning, he finds himself a genius. Devouring books, beating everyone at chess, moving pencils with his mind, and breaking government codes, George goes through life interacting with his friends and new people. He falls in love, and everyone begins to learn what’s really important in life.
